Routine health check-ups are scheduled assessments that help detect risks early and keep you well. Your GP reviews your medical history, lifestyle, and family risks, then tailors screening and advice to you. Regular check-ups support prevention, timely treatment, and sustained, long-term health.
Our Preventative, Patient-Centred Approach
We start with a focused history and vitals, followed by age- and risk-appropriate screening. Where needed, we arrange referrals and create a practical care plan with clear next steps. You leave with guidance on lifestyle, follow-up timelines, and when to book your next review.
Why Choose West-Med Medical Centre
Our medical doctors provide compassionate, evidence-based care with clear communication. We offer convenient appointment options, coordinated follow-ups, and practical prevention plans. You get a consistent GP partner who knows your history and supports your health goals over time.

Routine health check-ups: common questions
Cannot find what you are looking for? Message us on WhatsApp and reception will come back to you.
WhatsApp UsHow often should I have a check-up?
Most healthy adults benefit from an annual check-up. If you have chronic conditions, book every 6–12 months. Children and seniors may need more frequent reviews based on risk.
What's included in a routine check-up?
A medical history review, vitals (BP, heart rate, BMI), and screening as appropriate. Typical tests include cholesterol and glucose where indicated. You'll leave with a personal prevention and follow-up plan.
Do I need to fast or bring anything?
Fast only if we schedule fasting bloods; we'll advise beforehand. Please bring your ID, medical aid details, and medication list. Previous results or referral letters are also helpful.
How long does it take and when are results ready?
The appointment usually takes 30–45 minutes. Standard lab results return in 24–72 hours. We'll share results and next steps by phone, email, or portal.
Is it covered by medical aid and what will it cost?
Most medical aids contribute to preventive care benefits. We'll provide an estimate before tests are done. Private rates are available; some labs bill separately.
